  • Do I need to prepare for my session?
The physical: Make sure you're well rested, hydrated, and have eaten recently. Have a shower and fully charge any devices you plan to be using. The psychological: There's no way around it, tattoos are painful! Take time to prepare mentally. Practice some deep breathing, set your intentions for the session, and arrive ready to rise above the pain.
  • What should I wear for my tattoo session?
It’s more important to be comfortable than to be fashionable. Looser is better than tighter, and keep in mind you want to be able to cover up certain places that might show, depending on where you're getting your tattoo.
  • What should I bring with me?
Valid, Government issued photo ID. Money for your appointment. (Yes, do plan on tipping your artist!) Phone, tablet, or other sources of entertainment. Extra sweater or jacket.
  • How do I book an appointment?
Please submit an appointment request through the 'Bookings' tab on our website. First, we will have a consultation to make iron out details and make sure we're a good match for the art you're after. After your consult, your artist will book your tattoo appointment with you!
  • What is a 'consult'? Do I have to pay for it?
Depending on your request, we will be in touch to book a consultation. This is our chance to discuss your design, get on the same page for expectations, and answer any questions that you might have! You do not have to pay for your consultation, this is preparation. The consult is where you will notify your artist about any medical conditions, allergies, or anything else they may need to plan for! For example, as stated in our policies below, we will require a doctor's note for some applicable health conditions. If you have any more references or new ideas, please bring them to your consult. Once we're satisfied with fit, design, and concepts, we'll get you booked for your tattoo appointment and request that deposit be made within 24 hours to confirm the spot. Please note, not every appointment will require a consult. These are usually reserved for larger, more complex custom pieces and cover-up work. For smaller tattoos, we will likely be able to book your tattoo appointment over the phone as soon as we receive your request. Your deposit may then be submitted via e-transfer and your confirmation will be sent via email.
  • I live out of town - will that be a problem?
No worries! If you're out of town, we can touch base over the phone, email, or video chat. Please make sure that if you're not able to have an in-person conversation with the artist beforehand, you read our pre-care instructions twice as thoroughly to avoid any disappointment! Your deposit can be paid through e-transfer to: contact@scottietattooer.com. Please contact us if you encounter any issues.
  • Deposit and Cancellation Policy
Deposit Policy: The amount required for deposit will be determined at the artist's discretion, with a minimum of $100 required to secure your appointment. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, with no exceptions. Please note that until your deposit has been received, your appointment will not be considered 'confirmed' and may be offered to the next client in line. Your artist will not begin working on your design until deposit is received. In the event of rescheduling, your deposit may be transferred to a new appointment once, provided that adequate notice (two business days) has been provided. Please note that your request to reschedule and transfer deposit must be confirmed by the artist through phone or email in order to retain deposit. Contact through social media will not be accepted for this purpose. Upon the occurrence of these behaviours, under the sole discretion of the artist, your appointment will be cancelled and no refunds will be offered. How to Send Your Deposit: Deposits can be given in cash, or sent by e-transfer to contact@scottietattooer.com.
